Elgin ISD Athletics Travel Request Elgin ISD athletes attending school sponsored events away from the school are required to ride the transportation provided by the district, to the event and back to the school. There are some exceptions to this rule: 1. Students may be excused from riding to an event in school provided transportation, under special circumstances only, by the principal or activities director. For example: occasionally a student participates in 2 different school events on the same day. The school will make every effort to transport the student(s) using school transportation to the second event. If school transportation cannot be arranged, parents may be given permission to transport their child. 2. Students may be excused from riding home from an event in school provided transportation if their parent chooses to complete this form and return to the coach or sponsor, 48 hours before the start of the event. This form must be returned to the coach or sponsor before the child is allowed to leave in a mode of transportation outside of the option the school provides. This is to be completed each time a parent wants to sign out their child. We will NOT allow students to ride home with someone other than their parent or legal guardian.
