University English Entry Courses (UEEC) UEEC is for students who have a conditional offer of admission to study at UNSW and who wish to achieve the UNSW English entry requirements. The Standard UEEC is 10 weeks (entry requirement = Overall IELTS 6.0 with 6.0 in writing) and the Extended UEEC is 15 weeks (entry requirement = Overall IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in writing) The course has been designed specifically to prepare students for successful academic study at UNSW and the learning materials include lectures and articles by UNSW academics. On successful completion students do not need to re-take an IELTS or similar test and will be admitted directly to UNSW. The UEEC has a pass rate of between 80-85%.
Tertiary Orientation Program (TOP) The Tertiary Orientation Program is available to all international students who have a received full offer to UNSW. TOP provides students with additional English language preparation to ensure a smooth transition into University life. TOP is a 5 week course. The course is held twice a year – before the start of each semester.
Pre-Foundation Year English (PFY) Pre-Foundation Year English course prepares students for the UNSW Foundation Year program. The entry requirement is overall IELTS 5.0 with 4.5 in writing The program includes comprehensive tuition in: study skills, academic writing, Speaking and discussion skills. The program is 10 weeks in duration.
ELITE Programs ELITE Programs are : Customised courses that meet specific needs of particular client group. ELITE Programs include: Courses for credit with partner universities. Study tours with an academic focus, including High school age groups. English + Academic Semester at UNSW. TESOL teacher education courses. Special focus courses for government and industry organisations.
