Elite Softball Camps
Elite Softball Camps at Mercer University Mercer University Softball will host THE ELITE Softball Camps on July 18th and July 19th. Instruction will be provided by The Mercer Softball Coaching staff and players.
**The sessions will differ between the two days for each facet of the game. July 18
th
9:00am-11:00am
Pitching OR Catching During the pitching session, pitchers will focus on proper mechanics, work on movement pitches, increasing velocity, and the mental aspects of pitching ***Each pitcher MUST bring their own catcher*** (These catchers will not have to pay) The catchers’ session will include work on the mechanics of receiving, framing, blocking, transitions, throwing, footwork, and how to set up a batter (pitch calling).
11:30am-1:30pm
Hitting/Slapping The hitting and slapping session will focus on all aspects of fundamental mechanics including increasing power, bat speed, proper balance and footwork, and the mental aspects of hitting
2:30pm – 4:00pm
Defense (Infield or Outfield) The defensive session will work on positional breakdown, proper mechanics and footwork, angles, glove work, throwing, and situational instruction.
4:30pm-6:30pm
Game Simulation Showcase Showcase your entire game. You will be put on teams to play full game speed. Pitching, Hitting, Defense and Base Running. Spots will be limited!!!

1. I, (the “Camper”), know that participation in sports may result in serious injury or death, and protective equipment does not prevent all injuries to players. I hereby waive, release, absolve and agree to hold harmless Mercer University, its administrators, employees, coaches, students and staff as well as the organizers, supervisors, volunteers, sponsors, participants and persons transporting me to and from activities from any claim arising out of any injury to myself, whether the result of negligence or for any other cause. 2. I (We) the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the above-named Camper hereby give my (our) approval for Camper to participate in activities utilizing Mercer University facilities and Mercer University athletic facilities.
