Fabrics and Notions needed: • • • • • • • • • •
Assorted scraps for appliques: 4x4” scrap for boot, 1” scrap for boot “pull”; 4x4” scrap for sail boat sail, 4x4” scrap for boat body Embroidery thread for boot: I used dark brown for the heel and spur strap, light brown for the applique border, silver for the concho, and black for the outline Embroidery thread for the sail boat: I used red for the boat, brown for the mast, variegated blue for the flag, variegated pastel for the sail border, and dark grey for the outline. 90/14 Embroidery or titanium needle Small, sharp scissors for trimming applique fabric Tear a way stabilizer Fabric Marker Purchased tote bag (at least 12x12) or, if you choose to make your own, ½ yard of lightweight denim, cotton twill, or duck. Rotary cutter and ruler Sewing thread to match fabric (if you are making a tote).
