SUBJECT: Emporia State University, Constitution Day, September 17,2015
Dear Superintendent and Members of the Board of Education, Emporia State University invites each of your middle and high school students to attend our annual Constitution Day event on September 17,2015. The only cost to the school will be for transportation to and from the event. In addition, students must bring a sack lunch. The schedule for the event is as follows; • • • • •
9: 15 a.m. - Busses arrive 9:30 a.m. - Key note speaker begins presentation 10:30 a.m. - Small group breakout sessions begin o Lunch will be during small group 1:00 p.m. - Large group activity 2:00 p.m. - Busses pickup students to leave
This event meets the Federal mandate that, each educational institution receiving Federal funds for a fiscal year holds an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students, at very little cost to your District. We hope you will consider us as you plan Constitution Day. For our planning purposes, please RSVP interest by January 22, 2015 and note approximate number of students.
