Assembly 1. Start by breaking down your machine into these base components seen in the picture to the right. You will be using all of the parts from the Filastruder kit. Everything else you need will be included in the upgrade kit or can be 3D printed.

2. Start with the hot end, remove the nuts on the end of the four ¼-20 bolts. Remove the flange and the nuts.

3. Remove what is left from the wooden support. You should see the picture to the right.

4 4. Take the center support from the upgrade kit. Insert the four ¼-20 bolts through a washer, then the flange attached to the pipe, and finally through the center support.

5. Place the four nylon spacers on the bolts, then add the second flange. Finish off each bolt with a washer and a nut. This completes the center assembly.

6. Take the motor and remove the screws. Take the motor mount from the upgrade kit. Screw in the motor to the motor mount support.

5 7. Take the front panel from the upgrade kit. Insert the switches and PID controller into the front panel. Clip in the locks to the PID controller.

8. Place center assembly on the table and place the front panel on top of it. The center assembly should point towards the front. 9. With two ½” screws, attach front panel to center support. Flip assembly over so that center support is on top of front panel.

10. Place the socket (with shaft key) onto the motor. Then connect the motor to the auger.

6 11. While holding the motor mount firmly in place, flip assembly over again so that front panel faces you. 12. Using two 1/2” screws, attach motor support to front panel. Tighten center support and motor support screws.

13. Connect all the wires together. Reference the Filastruder kit assembly manual for instructions.

14. The 12 volt connector is press fit into the notch at the bottom of the motor mount. If it is too loose, use some tape around the connector. If tight, use a rubber or plastic mallet to tap it into place.

15. Place in the top front panel and top back panel into the front panel. Line up the tabs so that they easily side in.

16. Before attaching bottom panel, feed the heating collar and thermocouple wires through the cut out at the bottom of the center support.

17. With four 8x32 1” screws, attach the bottom panel to the motor and center supports.

18. Put the back panel on by lining up all the tabs. Screw in the center support and the motor mount support. Leave these loose, so that the hot end can be aligned. Reference the User Manual for instructions on how to align the hot end.

19. Place the front support between the front and back panel. Screw is the four ½” screws into the side. The notch at the bottom is for the fan cables.

Special Note: the T-nuts and ¼ 20 bolts can be used as attachment points for use with a vertical wall mount. To apply, dry-fit the board to the bottom of your partially assembled Filastruder, after step 15. Three pairs of holes should line up with the threaded inserts for the Front, Center, and Motor supports. The fourth pair of holes will be guide holes for placing the T-nuts. Use a hammer to pound T nuts into place. Drive ¼-20 bolts in, but leave heads exposed at least ½ “. It is often easiest to pound in T nuts before step 16, but wait until completion to place bolts.
