Speaking Test Introduction（For those who take it for the first time）
For those who take Speaking Test lesson for the first time.
The “Speaking Test” material serves to assess your English abilities, especially speaking abilities objectively and correctly. Please read this Instruction to use the material correctly and take the Speaking Test lesson in a right way.
We’d like to recommend you choose the teacher tagged with “Speaking Test” when taking the lesson. If you want to continue assessing you speaking abilities we recommend you choose the same teacher next time you take the Speaking Test lesson.
Speaking Test materials consist of 5 Tests, “Test 1” to “Test 5.” Your teacher will give you the score after you take all of the Tests, following each of the instructions. The total score is 30 points, and stationing of points is, Test 1 – 5 points Test 2 - 5 points Test 3 - 5 points Test 4 - 5 points Test 5 - 10 points

Test 1 | Reading Words and Sentences Aloud
✎ 5 points 2 minutes
Directions: Read the words and sentences below aloud. 1 minute is given to finish reading all the words and sentences.
“Test 1” is to assess your English pronunciation of words and sentences. Your teacher will count 1 minute, so please read all of the words and sentences in Part 1, 2 and 3. In Part 1, please read the words in the following order so that your teacher can check your pronunciation easily. In Part 2 and 3, please read the words and sentences in order.

Test 2 | Reading an Article Aloud
✎ 5 points 5 minutes
Directions: Read the article below silently. 1 minute is given to you. After that, your teacher will give you a cue. Read it aloud. 3 minutes are given to finish reading.
“Test 2” is to assess your English pronunciation fluency in reading an article. Your teacher will count 1 minute, so please read the article silently. After that, your teacher will count 3 minutes, so please ready the article aloud.
Test 3 | Answering Questions
✎ 5 points 3 minutes
Directions: Your teacher will ask you 4 questions about the article above. Answer these questions. 30 seconds are given to answer each question. You can look at the article when you answer.
“Test 3” is to assess your English understanding of the article in Test 2 in answering questions related with the article. Your teacher will give you 4 questions about the article in Test 2, so please answer these questions. Your teacher will count 30 seconds in each question, so please answer the question within the given time.

Test 4 | Describing a Picture
✎ 5 points 3 minutes
Directions: Look at the picture. 30 seconds are given to you. After that, your teacher will give you a cue. Describe the picture. 2 minutes are given to finish the description.
“Test 4” is to assess your speaking and listening abilities in explaining and describing things in English in a picture description. First, your teacher will count 30 seconds, so please think what to say and arrange it in mind. After that, your teacher will count 2 minutes, so please describe the picture within the given time.
Test 5 | Stating Opinions
✎ 10 points 7 minutes
Directions: Your teacher will give you 3 questions about the graph below and ask your opinion. State your opinion. Two minutes are given to answer each question.
“Test 5” is an application test to assess your speaking and listening abilities totally in explaining things a nd expressing your thoughts and opinions in English through a social phenomenon or statistics, etc. Please follow the directions of your teacher, and explain things or express your opinions within the given time.
Result | Your Score
3-5 minutes
If you want to know the suggested answers and/or detailed feedback based on the result, please tell your teacher so, and take the next lesson with the same teacher. Your teacher will give you the suggested answers and give you advice to improve your English and how to study English based on the result.
Note) Please understand that, because of the limited time, the Speaking Test lesson in 25 minutes is only “to assess your speaking abilities” and not to give detailed feedback.
