WHAT IS ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT? Term coined by Jack Maguire in 1976 (Boston College) Enrollment management is an – institution wide – systematic – comprehensive, – research-driven system designed to – locate – attract, and – retain students the institution wishes to serve

WHY ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT?

Gain greater control Importance of enrollment over the institution’s to institutional funding enrollment (e.g., size and characteristics of student body)

Improving quality of student life and learning which leads to improved retention and graduation rates
