Navigating the Permitting Process NCDENR has staff within the Environmental Assistance Center located throughout the state to assist citizens, local governments and businesses in identifying environmental permits required for any project.

HOW CAN WE HELP? Each environmental assistance coordinator aids customers in understanding the regulatory requirements of a project to ensure the success on the front end. The following services are available: • •

Identify environmental permits for the proposed project(s); Serve as a customer service liaison by offering a single point of contact to address a customer’s issues, complaints and information requests; Coordinate projects requiring multiple permits with different agencies; Assist clients interested in Express permitting (where available) for quicker permitting decisions; Small business assistance; and, Develop project timelines and track permit review times.
