Every Supply Chain is Unique Your market, customers, products and business model dictate the requirements to your supply chain. Almost everything that distinguishes you from the competitors has an impact on the supply chain. Your supply chain is your diffeentiator as it is difficult to reproduce and it is seamlessly integrated with all of your companies specific business processes. The supply chain is the backbone of your business. This is what makes your company different and enables you to maintain your competetive advantage. To maintain a leading position within your market(s), the supply chain should be carefully designed, continuously analyzed and adjusted to changing environments. To do this, your supply chain optimization software has to be able to capture the uniqueness of your network as well as produce results as fast as possible.

you can actually look at the real world details. In other words, trying to optimize your supply chain from the "Outside-In" is like trying to build a home without planning for plumbing and electrical and assume you can figure out where everything will go AFTER the house has been built. This is risky as any significant change can be very expensive and limits you with minimal influence on real improvement.
Pioneering multimethod modeling technology, anyLogistix™ (ALX) enables you to utilize more than one approach to simulate and optimize every facet of your supply chains ecosystem giving you the ability to clearly make a difference and capture the performance improvements that make an impact on your business.

Why Multimethod?
ANALYTICAL METHODS
SIMULATION MODELING METHODS
Using analytical methods to model your supply chain will work, but do not tell the whole story. You will use formulas, equations and proprietary methodologies to get quick results, but will have to make assumptions and generalizations on many details which make your supply chain unique because they cannot be accurately represented. Subsequently this may leave you with the additional challenge of proving that your simulation produces accurate results and the model itself is relevant.
Simulation modeling methods allow you to consider all of the details and specific traits of your supply chain and its elements. Not only will you be able to visualize network operations but also trace every process inside. However, the simulation modeling software you choose must be powerful enough to easily model and simulate the complexities of the supply chains.
With anyLogistix™, you do not need to decide between the methods as you may use both of them depending on the supply chain problem you address. All this enables you to gain deeper insights into your supply chain than is not possible with traditional software solutions.

“Simulation”… The REALITY of the Situation
In the supply chain optimization software industry, virtually every tool provider claims their software solution provides “simulation” capabilities. The word “simulation” has become a very generic term, and subsequently it does not always represent reality. In many supply chain software solutions, “simulation” simply means a sensitivity analysis, simple data input manipulation, and/or visualization. It is not truly a “simulation” that allows you to perform dynamic simulation to conduct “what-if” scenarios that allow you to optimize the results for production. A far stretch from reality! It is like saying all means of transportation are the same, but the capabilities of a bike do not come close to that of a car. Unlike other tools, anyLogistix™ provides the true power of simulation.

Extensibility and Flexibility Most of the supply chain optimization packages use only analytical modeling methods. This means they are based on mathematical formulas and are inflexible by nature – they have to be focused on solving a particular problem. If your challenge differs from the standard case, it will require a change the mathematical model. However, since this type of change is virtually impossible you will likely need to look for a workaround. With anyLogistix™, it is you who decides what factors to consider when modeling your network. It allows you to build supply chain models with a set of predefined policies and behaviors of network elements/objects/ sites/ as well as easily extending them to the level of detail required by the problem.

anyLogistix™ Technology Add More Details to Your Supply Chain Model Thanks to its flexibility, anyLogistix™ allows you to model any element of a supply chain with any level of details you may need: • Manufacturing processes at a production site, taking into account conveyors, pipelines, workers, machine-tolls, working schedules, etc. • Warehouses and distribution centers, considering orderpicking algorithms, layouts, the number of forklift trucks, workers, the number of gates, etc. • The consumer market, discovering what influences customer decisions and what factors affect demand in the market. To sum up, anyLogistix™ can be used to optimize and analyze any supply chain as well as the processes that encompass the entire ecosystem.

Who We Are
We are the AnyLogic Company – a multinational team operating from the US and Europe. Our multimethod supply chain optimization technology has its roots in the multimethod simulation modeling, which we first ever made possible with AnyLogic simulation software in the year 2000. The idea of multimethod is simple: seamlessly integrate and combine different methods for problem-solving to overcome drawbacks of individual methods and provide powerful and flexible decision support software to users. However, its implementations took years of research and development to make AnyLogic’s success possible. Today, more than 700 companies worldwide, including many from the Fortune 500 list, choose AnyLogic for its capability with multimethod simulation. As multimethod technology grows within the business, the natural progression and customer demand has driven AnyLogic to create a powerful platform to address supply chain problems at a new qualitative level – this is how anyLogistix™ was born.

5 Reasons Why Traditional Analytical Supply Chain Software Is Obsolete It cannot take into account all supply chain restrictions and specifics as not all of them can be described with formulas. It is a “black box”. You provide an input and get an output. The ways to verify the output are very limited and you have to trust the accuracy of the results. Visualization that could help you verify that your model describes the real-world supply chain correctly is very limited nor does it allow for you to watch the dynamics of the system in action. Model developers are restricted to pre-defined generalizations by the software vendors and often left with no way to consider additional rules and policies. Analyzing model assumptions cannot be challenged and modelers must rely on outside service providers for change management.
