EWING GREEN TEAM Working Towards Building a Sustainable Ewing

EWING GREEN TEAM-APRIL 27TH GREAT COMMUNITY DAY Thanks go to all the people who made the Ewing Township Shredding event at the Hollowbrook Community Center on April 27th such a huge success. First of all, we need to thank Mayor Bert Steinman, for offering the residents of Ewing Township the convenient opportunity to safely recycle personal documents at no cost. It was under the direction of Tom Elder, Ewing Township’s Recycling Coordinator, and his dedicated staff; and over 7700 lbs of paper got shredded and recycled. It was from 9:00-1:00 and by the end almost 200 cars had dropped off papers to be safely destroyed. And as each car went through members of the Ewing Green Team made sure they received a reusable shopping bag filled with helpful recycling information such as the do’s and don’ts, ‘grasscycling’ and future shredding dates. Members of The Ewing Green Team, the Hollowbrook Community Center, and the neighborhood civic association worked together with the Township for additional green activities and coordinated efforts. In addition to the shredding; beautiful flowers and bushes were planted and the Hollowbrook Community Center area was spruced up; and arts and crafts were ready for kids in the community. It is also important to note that the day would not have been successful without the hard work and positive attitudes of the, five members of the Ewing High School Key Club: Krishna Raj, Kyle Lee, Erica Weber, Amanda Dekleine and Rebecca Jenkins; and the seventeen students from the College of New Ewinggreenteam.wordpress.com
