***Example of my work Kim Kardashian West ‘Breaks the Internet’ Recently, Kim Kardashian West did a photo shoot for the front cover of Paper Magazine with the headline: Break the Internet. There were three photos featured; for most of them she was naked, and all with a smile on her face. For many reasons, including the shock factor, this photo shoot got a lot of backlash and negative views from many people. And I have to say I don’t agree with any of the views expressed. Firstly from an aesthetic point of view, the pictures, which we taken by famous photographer Jean-Paul Goude, I think are absolutely gorgeous. I find the styling (or lack of), hair and make up and editing were done quite well. The only thing I didn’t like was the blatant photoshopping that was done. But other than that, I’m a fan of the picture itself. Most of the responses claim that because she’s a mother and wife, these pictures are unacceptable. Firstly, since when has getting married and/or having a family stopped Angelina Jolie, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford etc from posing in the nude? It hasn’t. People seem only to have a problem with Kim because it’s Kim. And quite frankly, for someone who is known for their curvaceous body and came into mainstream fame from a sex tape; why are people surprised she likes to show her body? It’s part of her brand! We live in a society that sexualises women but does not allow them to be sexual. We crave nudity but seem to be appalled at the sight of it. An of-age woman, no matter her relationship status or job, has chosen to pose in the nude; I fail to see the issue. Of course, people can choose whether they like the pictures or not; but basing your opposition of them on Kim’s character, gender, relationship status etc is down right mean. Everyone is entitled to an opinion; it just seems like I always have the unpopular one.
