Exercise Overview: A class on exercise? isn't that what we do in every class? Yes and no. You know you exercise, but the students know they have fun and go to martial arts class. to the preschool mind, they are separate entities. The greatest complement a teach can receive from a student is, "We didn't learn anything in school today, we just had a lot of fun" Then when the student is questioned, they discover a lot of learning took place As adults, we know one of life's greatest lessons is to find a physical activity we enjoy to stay healthy in body, soul and mind. When we exercise regularly, we increase not only our metabolism and physical stamina, but our mental health as well. This is especially true for children, because they have so much energy that needs a healthy and safe outlet. Today's biggest complainant is children don't exercise or play outside like they use to. they watch too much television and play on the computer. they sit in the house and eat junk food. These statements are true. unfortunately, many neighbourhoods aren't a safe place for children to be engaged in unsupervised play. With so many single parent homes or both parents working outside the home, children are picked up from daycares late, then rushed home where dinner needs to be made, homework done, chores, bath, and bed. We see ourselves as being physically work. This is why your class is important. Parents need a safe place for their child to have physical activity. This unit will teach your students, exercise is fun, and important in their life, also exercise is different from exercise class with the Dragons. Encourage older students to make a poster displaying fun and inexpensive physical activities that families can participate in your area e.g. Frisbee golf, basketball, catch at the park, hiking, biking, skating trails, volksmarhces, skating, walking the dog, hockey etc....

Line up your team and let's see who is which number. Listen carefully, so that everybody knows what they are to do. You will have to repeat this as each group finishes their turn. Say remember the next group has to... The first one in each group or number 1's will hop like a bunny. Bumber 2's will gallop like a pony. Number 3's will walk like a seal.
