How is an Express Event ODE run????
Compulsory per horse Ground Fee $18.00 Admin $7.00
You will still do three phases as per a normal ODE, with a dressage test , Show Jumping and cross country, however the second and third phase, your jumping and cross country will run over shortened tracks and in a show cross, derby format ,i.e you will do a course of show jumps then go directly into your cross country round, you will be expected to show jump in your cross country gear as you will not have time to change prior to starting your cross country phase.

Combined Training classes do a dressage tests (these are the Taupo 3DE tests) and a SJ round. Riders MUST be either full members with ESNZ or community members, horses do not require registration. Rules are run under ESNZ Eventing NZ rules and guidelines for Express Events.

HELP/Volunteers AESI is a not for profit sports club that runs horse trials at Woodhill Sands and we need your support - please let us know where you can help we require Jump Judges and Dressage Writers. Please let us know with entry if you are available to help . As with every trial we will need more than 80 volunteers to help the event run smoothly - No help = no event please let us know what jobs you can help with, with entry. Local riders who cannot help at event are expected to help week prior with dressing cross country and provide a plate for the helpers table. Or write for dressage Saturday or show jumping gate steward or write Sunday.
Prize Giving: All Classes can collect their rosettes from office 30 minutes after final result posted. Show Jumping classes Sunday will be presented at the ring on the conclusion of the class. ENTRIES: By making an entry riders are liable for all fees, even if they do not attend the event. If you subsequently scratch, the refund policy will apply. See below:
SCRATCHINGS/ REFUNDS: Scratching’s after Close of entry are accepted up to 48hours prior to the event, riders can apply for an 80% refund of entry fee only This request for refund must be done in writing. All Ground fees, Admin, yarding and accommodation are non refundable after close of entry. After close of entry all horses entered will be expected to pay if they run or not. MEMBERSHIP: All riders must be FULL members of ESNZ or community members for Saturdays classes. Article 610 ESNZ Eventing Rules – Disclaimer of Liability. Neither the Organiser of this Event nor ESNZ nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, vehicles, their contents and accessories or any other personal property whatsoever whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract, or in any other way whatsoever. The committee reserves the right to limit numbers, cancel or change a class or make any other change in terms of Article 611 ESNZ Eventing Rules.
