Beta Omega Kappas were welcomed back to Eugene this Fall after a fun and adventurous summer. There were many events to look forward to- including recruitment, initiation, Founders’ Day, a new semiformal dance, and a variety of sisterhood events to bring the chapter together! As the 2016 Chapter Council hands off their knowledge, experience and leadership, we cannot wait to see what the new Chapter Council has in store for this year! Enjoy! Emilie Weiss | PC 13
RECRUITMENT
As usual for Beta Omega, we began the year with recruitment practice the week before school started. Led by our lovely Recruitment Chairman Quinn and her assistant Britt, it was an opportunity to bond, remember why we joined the chapter, and prepare for the Panhellenic Recruitment process. In the end, all of our hard work brought home 63 amazing new girls. Their bid day was full of everything blue & blue with the theme “Go Kappa, Went Kappa.”

We loved welcoming back the Kappa dads and other families this year's Dad's Weekend! We had a fun filled weekend event full of football, Autzen tours, dinners, and showing the dads around the Kappa house.

On October 13, we celebrated 146 years of Kappa Kappa Gamma by inviting the chapter over for dessert and emphasizing the meaning of Kappa, and how it had shaped all of our lives. This year we brought a new tradition into Founder's’ Day- saving written notes from the freshman class about their first few weeks as Kappas and putting them in a time capsule, not to be opened until they near graduation their senior year.

After winning last year’s “Best Homecoming Float” in the Greek Week Parade, we used our prize (a free event held anywhere on campus) for a winter wonderland themed, semi-formal dance in the newly remodeled Erb Memorial Union. The night was full of dancing, pictures, and great tunes as an end of term celebration.
SISTERHOOD IS
This fall we had a variety of sisterhoods that helped the chapter meet the new PC and allowed them to spend time with one another! We had a thrift shop themed Skate World trip, a night of Halloween movies and popcorn held in the Kappa living room, an annual trip to the pumpkin patch, and a discounted shopping trip to American Apparel! It has been a fun-filled term at Beta Omega!
