Fabulous Festival Flags! As part of arts engagement project with young people, five local schools:
Corsham Primary
St Patricks Primary
Heywood Prep
Corsham Regis Primary
The Corsham School
as well as CreateNoW art club at The Pound… …have made some fabulous flags on the festival theme of ‘journeys’. The illustrations are the young people’s interpretation of the story “Where the Wild Things Are” by author and illustrator Maurice Sendak.
“It’s favourite children’s story about a boy called Max who gets up to mischief, gets sent to his bedroom and goes on an imaginary adventure to meet the wild things; becomes king of the wild things and takes part in a wild rumpus but then misses his mum so returns to his bedroom to find his dinner waiting for him”. The flag making project was led by the Pound Arts Centre in partnership with Mazy Bartlett, artist in residence at The Corsham School. Look out for the fun festival flags on display at the Pound Arts Centre and Corsham Town Hall over the Blue Sky Festival 11-14 June.
