Terms and Conditions Policy statement It is British Friendly’s policy that where we are planning to use an image or photograph for materials in the public domain, consent must be obtained by the appropriate person as set out in the following consent form.

The purpose of the consent form is: • to provide information for the person giving consent so they can make an informed decision. • to be clear about which areas of work the consent applies to. The consent form must be completed before the photography takes place.

Why does British Friendly need member images? British Friendly is asking for our members and their families to volunteer to appear in publicity material to help raise awareness of the Society and its services. Your images will help us promote the true purpose of our Society which is serving its members.

How are the images used? We use images in a range of materials to promote British Friendly as a whole and also to highlight specific products, services and membership benefits. This includes (but is not limited to) advertisements and other publicity materials such as leaflets, brochures and posters, direct mail, newspapers, magazine articles and publications for the internet. The images will include the text stating the member’s first name, surname, age, occupation, policy name and hobbies, unique talent or special interest.

How long does consent last? • Consent continues with no time limit. • Image consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time by notifying British Friendly in writing. • We cannot withdraw images already published.

Who can give consent? • Members 18 years and older. • Members under 18 years old - A signature of the parent/legal guardian must be obtained.

Who keeps the consent forms and images within British Friendly? It is the Marketing Department’s responsibility to store and retain the consent forms and images.

Declaration and Consent • I have read and understand the Terms and Conditions. • I understand that this will form the basis of my contract with British Friendly if I am selected to be professionally photographed by the Society. • I accept full responsibility for the accuracy of the answers and statements given. • I consent to the Society storing and using my professional photographs for marketing and publicity purposes. • I understand that I do not own the copyright or have any rights of ownership or other claim over the images. • I agree for my first name, surname, age, occupation, policy name and hobbies, unique talent or special interests to be used with my image. • I will not make any claim in relation to privacy, defamation or passing off in relation to any uses of the images within the scope of this consent. • I understand that British Friendly will keep all the images and use them for such period as it considers appropriate. • I agree to supplying the Society with an image for the shortlist process. I understand this image will only be used internally to select candidates to be photographed and once the candidates have been selected the image will be archived.
