2016 The Townsville North Queensland Emerging Leaders Program offers a unique opportunity to middle and executive level management and business owners. The Program will run over 14 months and is aimed at enhancing the critical skills, knowledge and aptitude required to become a community and/or industry leader. It responds to a recognised need to develop a pool of leadership talent to progress our city and the region. There are three components of the program, the first is that each participant is partnered with a high profile Mentor of their choice or from a list of engaged Mentors. These Mentors are highly successful business, political, community and industry leaders who are an integral part of this region and expose the participants to a wealth of knowledge. The next component is a full day module held once a month. Each is themed to a particular topic that is relevant to the city and region. At these modules Emerging Leaders will have unique opportunities to meet high profile guest speakers and key decision makers, establishing connections and contacts that are extremely valuable to their futures. The third component is the delivery of a project. The Emerging Leaders are presented with a project that they will deliver within project teams, these projects are a platform for organisations and the Emerging Leaders to integrate and produce “relevant community outcomes” whilst utilising, embracing and enhancing their skills. As an Emerging Leader, you will be educated on the issues, opportunities and challenges that impact on the Townsville North Queensland region locally, nationally and globally. One of the significant goals of the Townsville North Queensland Emerging Leaders is for the participants to connect in a meaningful way and share their knowledge by nominating for a board position, becoming a committee member within their chosen community, volunteering or developing their own way to donate time and energy.

The 2015/2016 Townsville North Queensland Emerging Leaders Program has been so successful that within the 20 Participants they have collectively generated over $5.5 million in new business. Almost half of this year’s cohort of Emerging Leaders has gained board positions along with valuable and extensive media exposure. The 2016/2017 Program will commence in June 2016 and finish in July 2017. We are currently recruiting with limited positions available.
