WHO HAS THE IT FACTOR? Lets only look at the Old Testament/Covenant Leaders to start. Who is the greatest among them?
WHO? WHO? WHO?
CLAY’S TOP 5 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Samuel Enoch Melchizedek Elijah Josiah
MATTHEW 11:11-15 (ESV) Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
THE ANSWER
•“…among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist.”
•“Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”
WHO? WHO? WHO?
PETER
THE “IT”FACTOR •You are great. •You are greater than all of those Old Testament Figures •You are greater than you even know
WHY? •What separates John the Baptist from Joe Shmoe down the street?
MATTHEW 3:13-17 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
WE READ THIS SCRIPTURE WRONG •John wasn’t looking •to get #Dunked
MATTHEW 3:11-12 •“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

UPGRADED TO VESSELS
UPGRADED TO VESSELS
UPGRADED TO VESSELS
WHAT MAKES A VESSEL VALUABLE? A vessel is made valuable by what it holds. A vessel is created to serve a purpose The purpose of the vessel is easily seen fulfilling it’s purpose
IMAGINE
ENHANCING THE “IT” FACTOR • We are great because we are vessels of the Living God • We are designed vessels to fulfil the purpose God has given us • No one can fulfil that purpose like us • Because I am great
I AM GREAT
NEGATIVE NANCYS… SORRY NANCY • OBJECTION: • God is great! • People are flawed • We are worthless • Blah Blah Blah
FALSE HUMILITY • Instead of Magnifying our God, we decide to belittle ourselves • When we do this, we actually show that we do not have an understanding of just how big God really is. • When we walk in our purpose, we give glory to God and magnify Him because we are the vessel
LAYMAN’S TERMS •If saying that you are great means that God is not, you are living with a poverty mindset. •Moses was the most humble man that ever lived, according to him
HUMBLE • Being humble is accepting who we are and demonstrating our reliance on Jesus • Those great men/women we thought of, were just men/women. • We are the same.
I AM GREAT •You are free to be great! •Look at yourself daily and say to yourself, “I am great” •Jesus says you are great… He ain’t wrong… Or do you want to argue with Jesus
OBJECTIVES Upon leaving/listening to this service, hearing participants will: • Be able to define the “It” Factor • Be encouraged and empowered by the knowledge of their personal “It” Factor • Be able to free themselves of False Humility and Degrading/Destructive thoughts • Be Encouraged to accept “The Challenge”
THE CHALLENGE Matthew 11:14 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. It is time to take hold of that for which Christ has taken hold of you
