5CGS FALL BALL RULES 2017

Registration fee is $300 per team and must be paid at Coaches meeting, scheduled for AUGUST 11TH AT 7:00PM – SOTO SPORTS COMPLEX MEETING ROOM Games begin September 10th. Closing Tournament is on October 15th, 2017. 2017 ASA Rules will apply with the following exceptions: 1. Strict rules of conduct will be enforced. Players and coaches will be ejected from the game for inappropriate physical or verbal behavior toward players, umpires, or spectators. Any fighting will result in automatic suspension from Sunday’s play and team will be reviewed for further termination from the Fall Ball program. Threatening behavior will not be tolerated. 2. Players can play up, but they can’t play down. For 10’s, 12’s & 14’s the age cutoff date is 1/1/2018. (If a girl is 11 on or before that date, she cannot play 10U, if a girl is 13 on or before that date, she cannot play 12U, etc.). 3. Rosters are locked in on September 17th, 2017. Teams pay ASA registration fee for team, players, and coaches who have not participated in league play during 2017. 4. Each team is to provide $20.00 per game to the umpire at the start of the game. 5. All teams will supply either 1 new, or fairly new game ball per game. 6. 65 runs per inning cap for divisions 1,2,3. 3 runs per inning for PT. 7. The mercy run rule will apply in all games. 15 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, and 8 runs after 5 innings. 8. Each game will be 1 hour 15 minute time limit. No new inning to start after 1:15. DROP DEAD AT 1 HOUR 20 MIN. No reverting back. Score is what it is at end of time. Ties count until elimination games on Championship Day. 9. Minimum 8 players per team to start a game; 10 players per team on the field. Entire team will bat. High school division allows 9 players per team on the field. Game time is forfeit time – there will be no grace period. 10. Pickup players will be allowed. No minimum. All Teams have to identify pickup players before game begins to opposing team. Note: pickup player can be a pitcher only if opposing team agrees. On Championship Day (October 15) there are no pickup players allowed. Each team has to play with their rostered players. 11. There are no maximum innings pitched in all divisions. 12. The umpire’s decision is final – no protests. 13. Home team is determined by coin flip, and will be official scorebook. Official scorebook will be responsible for turning in each game scorecard to box in the snackbar. 14. Standings are based on win/loss and tie record. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. If there is a tie between teams at the end, then the tiebreaker will be broken as follows: a. Head to head b. Runs allowed c. Runs scored d. Coin flip
