That’s What Friends are for! Good morning and welcome to Baker Heights! We are really glad that you are here. We know that there are so many churches in this city and so many opportunities for worship and fellowship. We are thankful you have chosen to be a part of our assembly today. It could be you came on your own. It could be you were invited by friends. After all it is “Bring a friend Sunday!” Whatever the case, we want you to know you are fellowshipping with a group of people who care about you. We are, at best, a group of imperfect people. Together we are striving to care for one another, to build up and encourage one another, to grow and mature together as we move forward toward our goal of spending eternity with God. You may notice a sour note or two while we are singing but that doesn’t mean that our hearts are not in it! You may hear a crying baby, but then that is a sign of new life, isn’t it? You may hear the preacher stumble over his words, you may even ... well, we could go on! In all of this, we hope you will experience a group of believers intent on offering God our best. We want to have Christ in the middle of what we do; be it during our worship this morning or during our normal day-to-day lives. We want to stay true to, and be guided by, His word. We want to reach out to our community and to our world with the message of Jesus – a message that can change lives! We are committed to a God who is: “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us . . .” (Eph. 3:20) Thanks again for being with us today. It may be that you have questions or you would like to know more about who we are and what we believe. Please give us the opportunity to share with you.
