Town Page CWC HIGHLIGHTS From February 2, 2016 Winter Maintenance Walkway Pilot Program - For the remainder of the 2015/16 winter season the Town will be clearing the walkway between Newmarket Street and Stonehill Boulevard in Holland Landing. Staff will track and evaluate the pilot program and will report back to Council. A potential walkway clearing program will be referred to the 2017 budget process for Council’s consideration.

PROPERTY TAXES DUE The 2016 property tax bills were mailed on January 20th. Payment is due as follows: First installment: February 29th, 2016 Second installment: April 29th, 2016 We encourage pre-authorized payments. Two payment plans are available, however, accounts must be current. Option 1 – 10 month installments (February to November - withdrawal date is the 15th of each month) Option 2 – Due date installments If your tax account is not current a pre-set monthly payment can be arranged to help you catch up on tax arrears. Payments can also be made by telephone/internet banking, at any bank or in person by cash, cheque or direct debit at the Civic Centre. Unpaid taxes will be charged interest of 1.25% per month effective the first day of default. Please call 905-478-4282 if you did not receive a tax bill. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt the bill from being due or the taxpayer from incurring interest.

EMERALD ASH BORER Please be advised that the Town will be removing marked ash trees on Town property between February 1 to 14. Residents with marked trees located near their property have received notification of the removal. As part of the Town’s Emerald Ash Borer Strategy, trees marked for removal will be replaced with a different species.
