Passenger Lists or Cards
This document lists seven passengers. The batch would have seven records indexed. The remaining three records in the data entry area would be marked blank after all of the names have been indexed.
Many documents have more than 10 records. You will need to add extra lines in the data entry area to equal the number of passengers on the document.

Index all passenger names, including those that have been crossed out.
If a person is referred to, but neither the person's name nor the surname is given, do not index a record for the individual.

Since no birthplace or nationality is recorded and only information about a passport is recorded, the Place of Birth or Nationality is marked for the third record.
Some documents do not have a "Country of Birth" or "Nationality" column heading, but often a different column heading indicates the country of birth or nationality. For this type of document, you would index the information in the column "The country to which they severally belong." This column indicates nationality.
In this project, we index the names all individuals. The following documents, as well as others, will be indexed in this project.
