FIVE SEASONS SPECIFICS: We are guests at Five Seasons and not permitted to use lockers. Athletes can shower and change in locker rooms but we will have designated area for all backpacks/bags during training. Please be respectful of members and facility. COMMUNICATION:

TRAINING FAQs: 1) FEED YOUR SWIMMER—Please feed your swimmers 100-300 calories between school and afternoon training— they will focus and learn better with small snack—like a granola bar/piece of fruit. 2) Please arrive 15 minutes before start time to change/stretch/warm up. 3) PARENTS—please leave the pool deck (or go up to café) and come back for pick up at end of training. 4) Ask your swimmer what they did in the water after each day of swimming—it will help them process and remember new skills and drills.
EQUIPMENT FAQs: SWIM: 1. Kast-a-way on Rte. 42/Reading Road has good assortment of swimming gear and you can try on suits and goggles before purchasing. “Endurance” or “chlorine resistant” fabric –these suits are the ones to look at. One swimsuit should last for 2 month swim clinic and into start of summer if rinsed out after swimming and taken care of…Best pace to purchase GOGGLES to ensure proper fit/seal. 1) Swimoutlet.com: if you know your suit size and the type of goggles you like—this is cheapest option for swim gear—and good customer service. 2) DICKs is NOT the place to buy your swim gear. 3) TJMAXX and MARSHALL’s—can seasonally find good brand name (Speedo, TYR, Arena, Finals, Nike) competitive/training suits for half price. DRYLAND TRAINING: 1)
RUNNING SHOES: If you have not purchased new running shoes lately—I would encourage you to do so. Ideally you want to keep your training shoes for exercise. GOOD SUPPORT AND COMFORT are what to look for in a running shoe…DO NOT BUY THE THIN, MOSTLY MESH, LIGHTWEIGHT SHOES out there—athletes need support and stability. Each brand carries shoes that fit the support and stability criteria—keep trying on until you find one that feels good for YOU 2) SOCKS: Good socks you are comfortable iN 3) Shorts/shirt appropriate for gym, weights, aerobic exercise, and stretching
