Looking to the Future with Jenny Lorenz
Farewell from President/CEO Jim Hagerman As my 35 years with Linn Area Credit Union comes to a close, and retirement is finally here, I’d like to share a few thoughts with you.... Working for Linn Area Credit Union has provided me a wonderfully rewarding career. I have worked with great volunteer directors and professionals who are deeply committed to seeing the credit union grow and provide valuable financial services to members and small businesses in eastern Iowa. The credit union industry is built on the principle of working cooperatively to give people a financial hand up so that they may live a better life. I feel extremely fortunate to have spent my working career being associated with hundreds of wonderful people who share this same unselfish goal. I take pride in my efforts to keep this vision alive and vibrant in a world that seems consumed with selfishness and greed. I am excited for the future of Linn Area Credit Union. I will miss my friends at work and miss being involved in the daily activities of the credit union, but I am looking forward to stepping away from the stresses of an active work life. My wife, Alice, and I are looking forward to traveling and spending more time relaxing with family and friends. It has been my pleasure to be the President/CEO of your credit union and I thank you for all the support you’ve shown me. I could not have asked for a better career. I have enjoyed working with, and for, all of you.
I am extremely excited and very thankful that the Board of Directors has put their trust in my leadership. As the new President/CEO, I’m looking forward to engaging staff and members on a more personal level to understand what’s important to them. The prospect of visiting branches and opening a dialogue with members completely energizes me! I’m also excited about using technology to deliver products to our members, making interactions more convenient and efficient for them. Whether a member goes online or stops in to one of our branches, we want to be there for them, to serve them in the manner they prefer. As always, our mission is to improve the financial lives of our members and our community. My sincere hope is to preserve our organization’s culture, in which every Linn Area Credit Union employee is passionate about this mission. We want every interaction with us to continue to be a positive and enjoyable experience!
New “Chip Cards” Coming Your Way It’s been on your radar for a while, and now it’s a reality! (Drum roll, please!) If you have a Linn Area Credit Union credit card, Your new, fancy-schmancy chip-enhanced credit card is on its way! Most of the new credit cards were processed at the end of December, so you should have yours by mid-January. (Be sure to watch your mail!) The new chip cards are the latest and greatest in card technology, providing heightened security against counterfeiting and fraud. (Whew!) But, what about my debit card? We’re glad you asked! Instead of a big, crazy, onetime rollout, we’ll be sending out the new chip-enhanced debit cards throughout the coming year. Of course, if you just can’t wait to start using that shiny new chip-enhanced debit card, you can go to w w w. L i n n A re a C U. o rg / getmychip/ to submit a request for an early issue. Booyah!
