As the summer season draws closer to us, the Madison Farmers’ Market season begins. The farmers’ market returned last week on June 4 and will be open every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 15. The market is located on Central Avenue, between Main Street and Cook Avenue. The list of vendors at the farmers’ market includes: • Alstede Farms, LLC • Breadsmith • Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruit, LLC • Melick’s Town Farm • Old Fashioned Kettle Korn (Six Z’s Inc) • Paolo’s Kitchen • Pickle Licious • Secret Garden Soap of Madison • Vacchiano Farm LLC The Madison Farmers’ Market, in cooperation with Drew University, will be running the “Buy Fresh/Give Fresh” program each week during the season. The “Buy Fresh/Give Fresh” program brings farm fresh produce to soup kitchen recipients in Morris County, the borough said. Shoppers will have the opportunity to buy produce at the market and drop it off in a “Buy Fresh/Give Fresh” wagon in the middle of the market. The Downtown Development Commission has not yet announced dates during which the “Buy Fresh/Give Fresh” program will take place in the 2015 farmers’ market season.
