Fabric selection tips:
Yardage Requirements Background fabric 1 and 2, will be consistent thru out the entire quilt, it is recommended that they be similar in value for best results. Choose two lights, like cream and the lightest baby blue as in our 8 inch block sample. Another option would be two darks, black and deep charcoal would be stunning as well. The background fabrics will let the stars do the talking! Stash fabrics, will change with each star, this is where the fun begins! Choose up to 6 “stash” fabrics for your Feathered Stars. The yardages given are plenty for you to be creative. Choose two colors, then have fun selecting lights, mediums and darks for each of those colors, don’t forget to throw in something unexpected if you are feeling adventuresome! OR, choose a monochromatic look and go with all one color. OR, choose 6 different colors. You can not make a mistake!

The stash fabrics can be cut as you go. This way you can make color decisions on the fly. NOTE: If making the border, cut all stash fabrics for the border first, then use what is left for the main part of the quilt. Border stash fabric cutting instructions can be found on the Border CD
