The remaining tire allotment may be used for practice and/or change tires during the event. The tire change rule is zero (0) tires, any position. By the designated time the team representative must determine which tires of the allotment will be used for qualifying and which tires of the allotment will be used as practice and/or change tires during the race. At the designated time(s), NASCAR Officials may permit the race/change tires, as an option by the team representative, to be removed from the tire impound area to be utilized during practice. If the race/change tires are removed from the tire impound area they MUST be returned by the designated time and MUST be scuffed unless circumstances prevent and must be approved by the Series Director. The procedure for utilizing an Emergency Change Tire will be discussed in the Driver/Crew Chief Meeting. QUALIFYING PROCEDURE Two consecutive qualifying laps. (EIRI) Faster lap determines qualifying position. Adjustments or repairs may not be made on the car after the car has taken the green flag at the start/finish line. NASCAR reserves the right to have more than one car engage in qualifying runs at the same time. Starting field for the RIVERHEAD “200” is limited to 28 starters including Provisional Positions. Cars will be impounded after qualifying. Cars must qualify on race set up. After qualifying all cars will proceed immediately to the impound area. Only minor adjustments will be permitted following qualifying (i.e. stagger checked, set tire pressure, plug in generators, install radios and driver drink bottles). Stagger must be checked without jacking up the car. Flat tires and other safety changes may be made if approved by the Series Director. A list of authorized impound area adjustments will be provided in Crew Chief Handouts. No other adjustments are permitted without approval from the Series Director. NASCAR Officials must oversee and authorize any and all work being done to the cars during this time period. STARTING POSITIONS AND PROVISIONAL STARTING POSITIONS PROCEDURE The following will be the procedure for determining eligibility for and assigning of provisional starting positions for the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship event after starting positions 1st thru 23rd have been determined by qualifying, providing all entrants have had the opportunity to qualify. (What constitutes an opportunity to qualify shall be at the discretion of the Series Director.) The starting field for this event will be established as follows: Starting Positions 1st thru 23rd will be determined from qualifying. Until the completion of the third (3rd) event of the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, the provisional starting positions 24th and 25th will be assigned based on the final 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship car owner point standings. After the completion of the third (3rd) event of the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, the provisional starting positions 24th and 25th will be assigned based on the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship car owner point standings.

Provisional Starting Positions 24th and 25th have been established for up to two additional starting positions which will be available to the highest ranking of the Top 30 car owners in the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship car owner point standings who has not qualified for one of the original 23 starting positions, provided the eligible owner’s car that is added to the field is the same car that was used in the official qualifying attempt or was used during an official practice session for the event, unless the car was not repairable as determined by NASCAR. To be eligible for this owner’s provisional position, the owner must possess a valid 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car owner’s license and have filed this entry. If any unfilled position(s) still remain, they will then be assigned to the next eligible car owner who did not qualify for one of the original 23 starting positions based on the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship car owner point standings. In the event there should be one or more owners with the same number of points, the ties will be broken as set forth in section 17-8.1A in the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book. To be eligible for the owner’s provisional position, the owner must possess a valid 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car owner’s license and have filed this entry. Until the completion of the third (3rd) event of the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, the provisional starting positions 26th and 27th will be assigned based on the final 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship driver point standings. After the completion of the third (3rd) event of the 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, the provisional starting positions 26th and 27th will be assigned based on the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship driver point standings. Provisional Starting Positions 26th and 27th have been established for up to two additional starting positions which will be available to the highest ranking of the Top 30 drivers in the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship driver point standings who has not qualified for one of the original 23 starting positions, provided the eligible driver’s car that is added to the field is the same car that was used in the official qualifying attempt or was used during an official practice session for the event, unless the car was not repairable as determined by NASCAR. To be eligible for this driver’s provisional position, the driver must possess a valid 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver’s license and have filed this entry. If any unfilled position(s) still remain, they will then be assigned to the next eligible driver who did not qualify for one of the original 23 starting positions based on the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship driver point standings. In the event there should be one or more drivers with the same number of points, the ties will be broken as set forth in section 17-8.1A in the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book. To be eligible for the driver’s provisional position, the driver must possess a valid 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver’s license and have filed this entry. Provisional Starting Position 28th has been established for up to one additional starting position which will be available to any past NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion driver who participated as a driver in the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and who did not qualify for one of the original 23 starting positions, provided the eligible driver’s car that is added to the field is the same car that was used in the official qualifying attempt or was used during an official practice session for the event, unless it is not repairable as determined by NASCAR. In the event there should be more than one past champion driver eligible for this provisional position, the position will be determined by the most recent NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship, not the qualifying speed. If a former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion driver is not assigned this position, it will then be assigned to the next eligible driver who did not qualify for one of the original 23 starting positions based on the current 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Championship driver point standings. If any provisional position(s) remains unfilled, then those position(s) will become available to the next eligible car from the qualifying procedure for this event. If there remains any unfilled position(s) they will be filled from the qualifying draw. The decision of what constitutes an official qualifying attempt or official practice attempt shall be at the discretion of the Series Director in charge of the event. The event and qualifying procedure are defined in the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book. In the event that qualifying as stated on this entry blank does not take place (EIRI) for any unforeseen circumstance, the field will be set in accordance with the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book in Section 9, sub-section 5.1 (9-5.1). SPECIAL RULES: ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS This event will be run in accordance with the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book, the provisions of this Official Entry Blank, any special rules applicable to the event and any amendments thereto. In the event of any conflict between the 2016 NASCAR Touring Series Rule Book, the Official Entry Blank and the special rules, NASCAR’s determination as to the interpretation and application of the conflicting rules will be final. All drivers, car owners and crew members must have a valid NASCAR license that has not been suspended or revoked. For a car owner to receive owner’s points and prize money for this event, the car owner’s entry must be comprised of substantially similar components of the race team which regularly competes at other Series events under such car owner’s designated car number. Such components which are regularly associated with a particular race team include essential equipment, personnel and other key elements utilized by the race team on a regular basis. In order to protect the integrity of the sport and fair distribution of championship points and prize money, NASCAR reserves the right to evaluate the core components of each team at the event, including but not limited to the team’s designated Crew Chief, Driver, race vehicle(s), hauler and/or other equipment, to confirm the team competing in the event is not a mere semblance of the race team which regularly competes in the Series under a designated car number. NASCAR’s determinations that the above requirements have not been met are at the sole discretion of the Series Director. All cars must be inspected, pass inspection and receive a practice sticker before they will be permitted to engage in practice or qualifying. Cars that have not been checked in for inspection during the inspection period will not be permitted to compete. (EIRI)
