MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT: FEBRUARY 19 ______________________________________________ Christian Life Commission TEXAS

Churches in Texas have confronted the payday lending industry, which engages in predatory practices that often keep people in low-income communities trapped in debt. “You are being an advocate when you serve as a reference for a job for someone who’s been released from jail or help a single mom get special education services for her children in the neighborhood school,” CLC Public Policy Director, Kathryn Freeman said. By giving to the Cooperative Program, our church is joined in the ministry of the CLC which empowers churches to be active on social issues affecting the most vulnerable. Pray for the impact we can have in our community to serve the least of these.
