Ministering to refugees Apart from "S" and "A" (see article on the right), there is another refugee family that we are working with from The Gambia. In total, there are four houses in the general vacinity of the church that are reserved for asylum-seeking refugees. Pray that God will give us a fruitful ministry among these precious souls.

Christmas trip From the 15th to the 22nd of December, we will be in Florida for Amanda's brother's wedding. Please pray this will be a refreshing time of celebrating Christmas with our family.

Those who are seeking On the 3rd of October we began a seven-week course called Christianity Explored for those interested in seeking out more about Christianity. Week-by-week, they saw from the book of Mark how that Jesus is Messiah, Jesus is God, everyone is a sinner, the cross was enough, the resurrection is the proof of victory, receiving grace is coming empty-handed, and that God calls us to repent. Please pray for the following people: S and A- During the fourth week (when dealing specifically with the cross), two men (we'll refer to them as "S" and "A") began attending our meetings. Both of these men are Iranian refugees, seeking asylum in the U.K. "S" claims to be a Christian (though his testimony is unclear), and "A" is a nominal Muslim. Pray that God will open their hearts to the Gospel.

Michael and Sara- Sara is a teenage girl in our church who professes Christ, but doesn't show much fruit. Michael is Sara's uncle, who has been in and out of jail a few times. Just last week, Michael once again found himself in jail. He went on a drunken rampage; threatening to kill Sara, physically attacking his dad, and assaulting a police officer. Michael has been very interested in the Gospel over the past few months. There is no doubt that this is Satan's way of trying to snatch up the seed of the Gospel. Please pray for me as I deal with Michael and his godly parents.

Kenneth- One of the deacons in the church (Mike) brought his friend Kenneth to every session but one. Kenneth is a religious man who is very respectful toward and interested in the teaching of the Bible. When asked if he was born again, his reply was, "I think maybe a little." He has said that he would like to attend our church services. Please pray for Kenneth's salvation.

Induction Service

Reflections from my trip to Israel During the first two weeks of November, I was able to visit Israel for the very first time. Gratefully, a church here in the U.K. paid for the trip in full! This trip was a truly life-changing experience for several reasons:

Since we've been at Blurton Baptist, we've been able to serve in so many ways that we had envisioned before we came to the U.K. We have been able to do extensive evangelism, Amanda works a couple times a week with the youth, we've started a mothers and toddlers group, began outreach at the football stadium, and been able to reach out to people from many nations (including Muslims!). It is also only on the other side of the city from the Bible college. I feel it is of the utmost importance that I continue to train men to preach the Gospel. This is our mission field. On Saturday, November 26th, I officially became the pastor of Blurton Baptist Church. It was a great service, in which my Welsh friend Pastor Darren Rogers came up from Cardiff to preach the sermon.

• So much of the occurrences in

the Gospels centred around Jesus and 12 men travelling around the tiny Sea of Galilee, during 3 1/2 years. 2,000 years later, we still experience the power of what God did back then. Little is much when God is in it! • The tomb really is empty- I

checked for myself! Christ is still greater than sin, death and hell. • Seeing the land of Israel

changes everything, yet changes nothing. It has forever changed the way I will view the Gospel narrative. But, at the end of the day, the substance is still the same! "...blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

We know that God has opened this door to us. This gives us the opportunity to be maximally involved in the work of mission both in this country, and reaching out into the world. Thank you for you prayer and support! Fellow Helper,

Matt Green
