The City of Santa Fe Fire Department would like to purchase a new Fire Engine using the BID process and specification list established by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) cooperative purchasing agreement. The funds will come from the City of Santa Fe Fire Department' s State Fire Protection Fund, as identified in our fiscal year 2017/2018 budget. The vehicle will be a 2018 Pierce Saber pumper with a 1500 gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank and equipment meeting the NFP A 1901 standard. We would like to purchase this vehicle from Pierce Manufacturing through their local dealer First In, Inc. in Albuquerque. We are purchasing this fire truck to replace an older one and maintain consistency in our fleet while improving our firefighting capabilities to the community we serve. The Fire Engine that we will be replacing is a 2008 Pierce Saber, Vin #4P1CS01M48A008124 - Asset #53824 and is ready to be placed into a reserve status within the department. The price for this vehicle is $508,305.00 and we have attached a copy of the Pierce specification sheet and HGAC (FS12-15) pricing worksheet for your review. Our current balance in our State Fire Protection Fund (22208.571000) is $508,920.00 We are requesting your approval of this purchase and passing the consideration on to the governing body.
