FFC Goalkeeper Academy FREE Beginner Goalkeeper Training for FFC Academy Players Goalkeeper Coach: Toby Brown ([email protected]) Date: Mondays beginning August 24th Time: 5:00 – 5:25 p.m. (just before the regular FFC Academy) Location: FASA Park – Practice area nearest the parking lot REQUIREMENTS – 1 parent helper in attendance for first few sessions (No soccer skills required) Narrative: Preparation for future entrance into the FASA Goalkeeper Academy. An introduction to goalkeeping for 5-8 year olds and their parents. The instructor will demonstrate basic goalkeeping techniques and guide the participants through a series of simple drills in an effort to transfer skills. The emphasis is on technique and not physical exertion. This will be a great pre-FFC Academy warmup. The basic goalkeeping techniques will include:  Footwork  Distribution to include: o Bowling pass  Catching (contour) o Punting  Basket catch  Going to ground:  Ground ball pick up o To make a save: Collapse dive  Positioning o For protection  Basic Communication

Participating parents will learn basic goalkeeping techniques and will be able to remind their young keepers of some basic principles. Please register by eMailing Toby Brown ([email protected]) before the event.
