FHC JV FOOTBALL WELCOME RANGER FAMILIES! I have some important items I need to communicate before the season starts. Please read through this list and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thank you! 

  

The boys are bused TO and FROM all away games. Please allow your boys to ride the bus home with the team from these games. JV players are on one bus and will come home right after their game. If you need to drive them home, please notify coach prior to the game and make contact with coach when you take them from the field. Thank you! SCHEDULE NOTES: 1. Wednesday, August 26th – No team dinner – Coach Hallock to let team know when they need to arrive at school to prepare against Grand Ledge. 2. Wednesday, Sept 2nd – No team dinner – Coach Hallock to let team know when they need to arrive at school to leave for Grand Haven. Team is bused home. 3. Friday practices end earlier when school starts – between 4:30-5:00pm. They review game film and do some running. You may want to have your child contact you when it finishes as it will vary. WEBSITE – www.fhcfootball.com Please refer to the website often to check for changes to the calendar or to get other information. We will try our best to inform you of changes as they happen. (For JV team specifics: Click on the JV tab across the top bar. Consider adding the SportNgin app to your phone—very helpful and handy! Water/Gatorades, orange slices and granola bars will be provided for halftime. If you wish your son to have something else, please plan to pack that for him. LABOR DAY WEEKEND – There is practice on Monday, Sept 7th! Volunteer Information – We will need many volunteers for concessions, home games, and other special events. I will send out a Sign-Up Genius form for all to volunteer. We need to cover 20 spots on concessions, 35 spots for home games, and we will need help with 7 team meals. We have 69 spots to fill with 23 families on the team so each family will need to cover approximately 3 spots. Please try to work it out so you are able to put in your time. Thanks! OPPORTUNITIES: Concessions – 8/26, 9/24, 10/1, 10/15, 10/22 from 4:15-6:30pm (during Freshmen game): need 4 volunteers for each day. Teenagers can work concessions as long as 1 adult present. Home Games – 8/26, 9/24, 10/1, 10/15, 10/22 during our home games we need the following positions covered: announcer (adult), clock/scoreboard person, 1-2 spotters (can be teenagers), 3 chain gang people. Team photographer – Sarah Torrey has agreed to do this again but is willing to share responsibility with anyone else interested. You must bring your own camera when taking pictures.

TEAM MEALS – New this year! Our JV boys will need to stay after school on home and away games. The process they will follow is below: 1. 3:15pm - Boys meet in the cafeteria to complete their homework with parent supervision-MANDATORY. 2. Boys eat a meal in the cafeteria and clean up (4:00pm for away games, 4:30pm for home games). 3. AWAY GAME - Boys get ready and get on the bus (leaves around 4:40pm). HOME GAME – Boys watch freshmen play a bit then go to locker room and get ready. ***WE NEED 2 PARENT VOLUNTEERS to help supervise and take care of the team dinner. Again, we have 7 of these dinners. TEAM DUES – We will be collecting $100 from each player for the team dues. This money is for coaches’ gifts, the 7 team meals, the end of season banquet, and halftime snacks. Any unused money at the end of the season can be applied for any additional banquet fees or will be refunded back to you. Please provide payment at your earliest convenience. You can write your check out to Ann Peliotes or you may make your payment online which will be opening soon. If you have any financial difficulty with the team dues, you can contact Ann directly; or if you prefer, Coach Hallock or Football Boosters (Tom Kuiper at [email protected] or Tom Elzinga at [email protected]).

We have nine games and the season is outlined below. Please check the website for any changes and look for the email requesting volunteer help. We look forward to a great season of football and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me! GO RANGERS! Your Team Parent, Ann Peliotes, [email protected]
