Berk-Tek’s revolutionary Outdoor/Indoor Adventum™ cables are designed to be used in plenum rated environments. Adventum supports the latest Gigabit Communications Protocols, including Gigabit Ethernet and ATM. This cable design utilizes Berk-Tek’s unique DryGel™ waterblocking system. DryGel technology utilizes super absorbent polymers to replace the messy gel ller inside the ber tubes. It is the only re-rated cable designed to withstand the rigors of the outside plant environment. Adventum is rated for plenum installations and has no gel ller.

Description Berk-Tek's loose tube cable design can be used in all typical campus and outdoor/indoor installations, and is available with standard multimode, singlemode and GIGAlite™ bers. This design affords the installer the ability to place cable anywhere in a network, bypassing the traditional transition points required in most installations. Adventum plenum cable (U.S. Patent No. 6,178,278) is available in 2 to 432 count ber constructions. These cables have been thoroughly tested in accordance with Telcordia GR-409 Issue 2, ICEA-596 Edition 3, and ICEA-696 Edition 2 standards where applicable.

UniCam® Connector, ST® Compatible 50 µm multimode (OM3/OM4 compatible)

Corning UniCam® ST connectors offer optical performance in a fast, easy field-termination solution ideal for fibre-to-the-workstation applications where setup and teardown time is critical. The high-precision mechanical splice technology enables fibre optic networks to be installed quickly and cost effectively. Installation of an LC, SC or ST® compatible connector can be accomplished in about 50 seconds to one minute with the UniCam HighPerformance Tool Kit. The lightweight, handheld installation tool and highperformance precision cleaver virtually eliminate human variability during installation, ensuring terminations are right the first time, every time. Buffer Tube Fan-Out Kits, indoor 6 F, 25-in legs

Corning indoor buffer tube fan-out kits are specifically designed for the termination of 6- and 12-fiber buffer tubes. These buffer tube fan-out kits provide the ultimate solution for those users who want to field-install connectors on 250 μm coated fibers. The kits provide the most compact, easy-to-install fan-out solution requiring no additional hardware or space than that required for terminating tight-buffered cables. Indoor kits feature a 900 μm fan-out assembly that is color coded to match the fiber color scheme. The fan-out assembly is available with 6- or 12-fiber units in lengths of 0.6 m (25 in) or 1.2 m (47 in). These different lengths provide the installer the flexibility needed for a variety of hardware options.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS

SPECIFICATION

The enclosure shall mount on a wall in an 8"x13", 12"x14", or 17"x15" footprint. Adapters shall be mounted in metal mounting plates and attached to the enclosure using plastic plungers. There shall be cable entrance ports in the top and bottom of the patch panel on both the distribution and patch sides. Cable entrance ports are designed with a strain-relief post with a slot capable of holding a tie wrap. The enclosure shall provide strain relief in the form of a grounding lug and multiple tie wrap points. The enclosure shall have a plastic fiber management ring made of high impact UL 94V-0 rated fire-retardant plastic. This ring shall be stackable and adjustable. A port identification label/ card shall be provided. The enclosure shall be made of 16-gauge steel powder-coated black.
