You are a great planner and have the flexibility to adapt plans with changing situations.

What does this career look like? You love solving puzzles, and, with this job, the pieces are often moving. You coordinate the complex logistics requirements of the field using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment.

HOW DO I GET HERE?

A high school diploma (or equivalent) is typically required.

You strive for efficiency, ensuring all of the necessary resources and people are ready to go, whether it’s an oil or gas well site or equipment storage yard. You might optimize company use of delivery vehicles, making sure multiple loads for different sites make it on the same truck, or coordinating orders with providers ensuring the smooth, timely flow of materials to the site. You could be resolving an issue with a potentially delayed order due to a closed highway.

What would I do? You create answers to the questions who, what, where, when and how. You do this through your deep understanding of operations, equipment and personnel, which interlocks perfectly with your solid planning abilities, smooth communication skills and great relationships with third-party vendors, rental companies and sub-contractors.
