APPRENTICE STONEMASON LONDON
PAYE are the UK’s leading company in the field of refurbishment, conservation and adaption of traditional buildings and facades. We have worked on numerous prestigious projects in and around Central London and some examples are; Tower of London, Hadlow Tower, The Royal Albert Hall and Battersea Power Station. We run a Apprenticeship Scheme in Stonemasonry in collaboration with the Building Crafts College in Stratford for those interested in a career within this specialist sector of the building profession. Listed below is an example of the duties that a Stonemason Apprentice will assist with, whilst reporting to the Contracts Manager:
The restoration of prestigious historic buildings and landmarks in and around London & the South East
Repairing and Restoring buildings and monuments carving or repairing statues or memorials.
Making and fitting stonework window frames, archways and ornamental features
Skills learnt will be used to replace broken or missing masonry units in walls or floors
Quality control
Maintaining Health & Safety standards
Organisation of materials, plant and resources

Training: All Apprentices will receive structured training; CSCS, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling as a minimum. There are regular contracts meetings and in-house training sessions that staff attend to get a better understanding of PAYE and to share knowledge and best practices.
