DISCUSSION A. FY 2018 STATUS QUO BUDGET The FY 2018 Status Quo Budget was shared with the Finance Committee. The Status Quo Budget is the effect of rolling the current year budget into 2018 dollars making adjustments for salaries, benefits, and fuel. It was stated the District had yet to receive its ED 279 from the Department of Education.
B. DONATIONS – MERLE PEACOCK The District has received donations in memoriam of former MSAD 11 Superintendent, Merle Peacock. Since no one from the family has reached out regarding use of the funds, the Committee was asked how to best proceed. After discussion, the Committee agreed Board leadership would reach out to the Peacock Family.
C. GARDINER WATER DISTRICT – WATER TESTING A letter from the Gardiner Water District regarding their participation in a water-testing project sponsored by the Maine Rural Water Association, Maine Water Utilities Association and Maine Public Drinking Water Commission was shared with the Committee. While current federal regulation does not require sampling for lead in schools that get their water from a water utility, the project encourages all schools to test their drinking water fro the presence of lead. After discussion, the Committee agreed the MSAD 11 Schools will participate in the project. As a result of the Winter Break, the Committee agreed to schedule its next meeting for 6:00 pm Tuesday, February 28th. The Meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m. Attest a true record,
Patricia Hopkins, Secretary
