Athens United Soccer Association Financial Aid Application Revised Spring 2015
Athens United provides financial assistance to its families provided that they work volunteer hours in return. In return for financial aid, AUSA requires families to volunteer a set number of hours as set out below. These hours must be worked for the Club as a whole, not just for your player’s specific team. Volunteer opportunities are available for tournaments in August and December, field maintenance year round, developmental jamboree and concessions. At the bottom of this application you will be asked where you intend to volunteer in the upcoming year.

Financial Aid is good for one year: August 1 through July 31 of the application year. A new application must be submitted each year. The amount of aid available each year is limited and is based on need, then first come first serve basis. Financial Aid will be awarded at a 25% or 50 % reduction in registration fee. Financial Aid will only cover seasonal registration fees. Financial Aid will not cover camps, uniforms, tournaments or any other fees associated with your specific team. Submission of a financial aid application does NOT guarantee that the participant will receive aid, nor does it guarantee acceptance to a team. Financial Aid need will be based on your gross pay prior to any taxes, savings, life insurance or any other deductions from gross pay. Volunteer hours will be tracked and approval of future financial aid will be contingent on compliance with the volunteer requirement. If you request to transfer to another league, all fees for both seasons must be paid in full before a transfer will be approved. If you are late on payments, your child’s player pass may be pulled and your child will not be allowed to participate in ANY AUSA activities (including camps, clinics, etc.) until the payments are current. 12. FINANCIAL AID IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PLAYERS 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER (AS OF JULY 31 OF THE APPLICATION YEAR), EXCEPT IN EXTREME CASES. 13. All financial aid requests are confidential and are for the sole purpose of determining financial aid eligibility, and will only be shared with the financial aid committee.

Submit a completed application form. Submit a copy of your current tax return AND a copy of your most recent pay stub. (NOTE: THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM PAST YEARS. AUSA IS NOW REQUIRING A COPY OF YOUR TAX RETURN). Pay the application fee of 25% of registration fees. This fee will be refunded if your player is not accepted to a team.
