Financial Assistance for Ministry Students
In recognition of the divine call sensed by those who minister, the churches of the BGCT provide financial assistance to Baptist students in Texas Baptist schools who are preparing for careers in church ministry. The Ministerial Financial Assistance program (MFA) is managed through the Office of Theological Education which monitors and ensures distribution of scholarship funds to appropriate university officers.

Our Texas Baptist partnering schools are:

he Theological Education Council coordinates funds provided by churches with Texas Baptist schools for students planning to be involved in church related vocations such as pastor, church staff, missions, and chaplaincy. The TEC joins with ten partner schools, universities and seminaries to provide high quality, accredited theological education that will sustain students as they pursue vocational ministry careers.

Baptist University of the Américas Baylor University Dallas Baptist University East Texas Baptist University Houston Baptist University Howard Payne University Hardin-Simmons University South Texas School of Christian Studies University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Wayland Baptist University George W. Truett Theological Seminary Logsdon Seminary
These schools not only offer degrees at three academic levels, undergraduate, graduate and post graduate, but also offer degrees for ministers with differing subject specialization and vocational needs. Application for all BGCT financial assistance for degree work is made directly through the ministry guidance office of these BGCT related universities and seminaries. The TEC also coordinates funding for selected non-accredited ministry training across Texas. Requests for such assistance can be made to the Theological Education office.
