Flight Delays Demo
Purpose The Flight Delays demo illustrates flight delays and trends of seven United Kingdom airlines using a map extension created by Idevio (www.idevio.com). The punctuality of the airlines can be compared based on airline and/or destination city or country. The volume of flights can also be analyzed in this demo. The IdevioMap extension was created for QlikView 10 or later and can be downloaded at http://www.idevio.com/download-ideviomaps-for-qlikview.html. Please contact Idevio for any questions regarding the extension.
Data The data used for this demo is from www.flightontime.info analysis of CAA data which stores punctuality data for airports in the United Kingdom. The airlines used in this demo include: bmi baby easyJet flybe flyglobespan Jet2 Monarch Scheduled Ryanair The data collected ranges from 2003 to 2011.
Analysis Some of the analyses that can be performed in the Flight Delays demo include: View punctuality statistics trends over time Compare airline delay statistics Compare origin and destination airport statistics by country Analyze flight volume by airline
