Obituary Mrs. Betty Jo Eve Sanders Austin, age 79 of 127 Tom Womble Road, Pittsboro, North Carolina, passed on Sunday, February 5, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 1, 1937 to Johnnie and Laura Taylor Sanders. Mrs. Austin was member of St. Andrews Church from an early age and served faithfully until her health declined. She attended church until recently. She was one of the pillars of the church serving as Church Secretary, member of the C.E.C. Singers, usher board and participated in whatever capacity she was needed. She loved her church family and was an avid missionary visiting the sick and shut-in; caring for loved ones in declining health. She was also a former and youngest member of the Bible Band which her grandmother started over 100 years ago. She remained a member until it was disbanded. She was an extremely hard worker, a loyal friend and a remarkable Christian woman who put God first in her life. Mrs. Austin was very talented, great cook, seamstress, organizer, accountant, loved fishing, writing and the list goes on. She would often encourage the young parents of the church to be good to their children and one day they would reap the benefits. Most of all, to her children, she was a good wife and mother until the end. As in Proverbs 31 she was a virtuous woman, and her children, family and friends reaped the blessing. Mrs. Austin was married to Mr. Willie Cap (WC) Austin for 59 years. She was preceded in death by, her parents; siblings: Johnnie Wallace, twin sons, Margrett Crump and Rochester Sanders; three grandchildren, Kendrick Austin, Pamela Gilmore and Valerie Gilmore. Those left to cherish her memories are six children: Leon (Julia) Austin; Mary Jo (Johnny) Gilmore; William (Connie) Austin; Curtis Austin; Laura (Ivan McClamb) all of Pittsboro, NC and Martin (Renee) Austin of Tampa, FL; thirteen grandchildren: Patrina (Johnny) Sanford; Timothy Austin, Tata Smith, LaToya (Brandon) Nettles, Jonathan (Sophie) Austin, Victoria and Felicia Gilmore, Jerrod McClamb, Tamara Austin, Antonio Austin, Daniel Austin, Jason Austin, Darius Austin; ten great grandchildren: Rinaldo Marsh, Jr, Brittany and Brianna Marsh, Destiny and Desiree Austin, Desmond Gilmore, Avery Nettles, Scott Johnson, Jr. and Haven Marie Austin, arriving soon, Julius Emerson Austin; brothers, Richard (Vermel) and Hal Sanders; sisters-in-law: Rosie Lee Tuck and Florine Sanders; god-daughter, Rosa Harris Brooks; special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
