After They Are Gone

Floral & Pall Bearers

Homegoing Celebration Of

Friends of the Family

When someone we love passes away, We ache, but we go on; Our dear departed would want us to heal, After they are gone. Grief is a normal way to mend The anguish and pain in our hearts; We need time to remember and time to mourn, Before the recovery starts. Let's draw together to recuperate, As we go through this period of sorrow; Let's help each other, with tender care To find a brighter tomorrow. By Joanna Fuchs

Mrs. Helen Louise McLeod, daughter of the late Arlanda and Charlotte Lambert Cotten Reaves was born on September 5, 1921. She made her transition on March 18, 2017 around 9:10pm. Helen joined Union Grove at an early age and attended school in Chatham County. She was married for over 50 years to the late James McLeod and they made their home in High Point, North Carolina. Helen took a lot of pride in cooking and keeping her house spotless. She made sure everything was always in place in her home. In later years she helped take care of her sisters, Hattie and Mary. She leaves to mourn a niece, Mrs. Ernestine Cotten Johnson, Long Island, New York; a nephew, Michael Cotten (Shirley), Carthage North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Cotten, Harlem, New York and Minister Mabel McLeod, Bear Creek, North Carolina; a special cousin, Michael Brower (Brenda) High Point, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God. God saw that the road had gotten rough, with hills too hard to climb. So He gently closed her weary eyes and whispered, Peace be thine”.
