Scripture often describes life as a race; which is merely a series of steps in a competition towards a goal, or a finish. For the follower of Jesus, He is the goal. Where He is, is where we want to be, which means He is the place we want our lives to land, and finish. So the prize of this life, this race, is not heaven or avoiding hell. The prize of this life is not our salvation alone, it is Jesus. He is our Reward. We follow Him. We go where He goes. We walk where He leads. We stand how He stood. So at the end of our lives we look more like He looks. The beautiful part of this is sometimes our race is a race, and we are running. But other times it looks more like a walk. And sometimes it looks more like a crawl. And often the next step in running our race actually looks more like standing, than it does stepping. And that is okay, as long as we are keeping our focus on, and being obedient to Who has called us to run and FLOURISH in the first place.

Do you have questions about the next step? What does it look like for you? Are you waring with what Jesus has called you to? Are you focused more on what you have been called to than the Person who has called you? Are you trusting Jesus is walking with you in the steps?

May we run our race, well. May we see we are called to a path, a way, and it is paved with the commands of God. And in these commands there is refuge, there is safety, and there is protection. May we see we are not alone in our race. That we are all members of a body serving Jesus to advance the gospel. And may we run with purpose, following Jesus wherever He leads, declaring His Name to all peoples in every nation, as we continue to live a life that FLOURISHES.
