Greenleas Primary School The FOG Horn 29th April 2016 Goals for Gadgets
Hello from Team FOG! Welcome to the latest edition of FOGhorn! We hope you all had a good Spring break. We can’t believe we are already three quarters of the way through the School year and at the start of another busy term full of lots of hustle and bustle! Hopefully we shall have some glorious sun and ‘summer’ heat to help us along. This FOGhorn is packed with some fantastic figures as a result of our children’s hard-work last term. Thank you everyone for all the support you have shown in helping FOG achieve these goals and we can happily say we are in a good position to assist in funding the much needed iPads requested by School. Any fundraising ideas are always welcome as we are always looking for new ideas to involve our children and their families. Please feel free to forward any suggestions for future activities.
The FOG Team
Our first ever Goals for Gadgets was a great success. The children enjoyed the round-robin style goal shoot out but I think our ‘Dad’s in Goals’ were having the most fun! Thank you Mr Dodd-Hughes and Mr Rainford! We had two classes who scored the highest goals – Moorhen class in F2/KS1 and Willet class in KS2. Well done to both classes and to their teachers Mrs Monks and Mr White, who also scored a goal each against Mr Ashton! We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us with this event including all the helpers on the day, not forgetting the school staff. A special thank you to the team of sports leaders from St Mary’s College organised by Sally Giles – they were a tremendous help and really helped create a great sporting spirit! Everyone’s efforts have helped raise a fantastic final total of £1376 for the Goals for Gadgets event. Well done! The winning class, raising the most money is Heron with an amazing total of £298.40 and have been our leaders from Day One. The £100 prize and trophy will be presented to the winners during a whole School assembly over the next couple of weeks. An extra-special thank you to all the parents, friends and relatives of the children from Heron class and, of course Mrs Hazlehurst, for their support, encouragement and contributions in helping the children raise this fabulous total.
Spring Hop Once again our Disco Diva, Jenny Wood has come up trumps in organising a successful disco event that raised an amazing total of almost £550! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their valuable time on the night.
100 Club The 7th & 8th draws of the year have taken place and the winners are Elaine Baddeley and Pamela Brown. Brown Please collect your winnings from the school office. Congratulations!
