VBS 2018—DO LIFE BIG CHILDREN’S MINISTRY When I think about how we as Granada do local missions, one huge event comes to mind. VBS. VBS or Vacation Bible School is a long tradition of the GHFC Children’s Ministry! It is basically a week-long event for 3 hours every morning. Kids 4 years old through 5th graders are invited to come and hear the gospel in a fun and engaging way. This year the theme is Do Life Big – A Spectacular Upside Down Life Under the Love of God. We are called to live different, exciting, topsy turvy, upside down lives because of and powered by the Love of God working in and through us!! With God we start to expect the unexpected, we can put others first, the impossible is possible, the greatest is the least, we can turn the other cheek, we lose life to gain it, God uses a whole team of misfits for His good work...it’s upside down and might seem crazy but this is how we’re called to live, and it’s exciting to be part of! Step right up and jump right in to the greatest life you’ll know!
One of the coolest things about VBS is that it is an “all hands-on deck” kind of event. This means that it is not just put on by Children’s Ministry and their staff, but everyone from Granada jumps right into the week to serve God through VBS. This can look like leading or co leading a group of kids, helping with games, snacks, etc. During this intentional time in the summer there are definitely kids that are hearing the gospel for the first time in their whole life. In past years we have had 300+ kids attend. We are so excited to see what God will do through VBS this year! If you are interested in helping in some way make sure to stop by the Children’s Ministry or fill out the sheet in the bulletin or foyer in the VBS corner.

HELP KIDS WORK THEIR WAY TO SUMMER CAMP—HIRE A CAMPER Our middle & high school students are ready and willing to work for you so they can earn money for summer camp at Thousand Pines! You can be a blessing to a student by hiring them at a set rate of $10 an hour to take care of housework, yard work or that project you have been avoiding. Camp is a special time of spiritual growth for our students and this is a great way to help them get there.
