FONTERRA PINWHEEL DIY
Put a new spin on the classic pinwheel with Fonterra pouches!
MATERIALS
TOOLS
• 1 Clean Anchor Uno pouch • 1 Straw • Earring post • 1 Rubber earring back • Pinwheel Template • 1 Metal earring back
• Scissors • Sewing pin
START! STEP 1 Print and cut out the template, preferably on cardstock.
STEP 2 Clean the pouch thoroughly, and then cut off the top, bottom, and sides of the pouch to remove all fused edges. The result should be rectangular. Tape the template to the resulting rectangle
TIP 1: You can shape the tips of the pinwheel differently to create different effects. Don't hesitate to ask an adult for help with the cutting!
STEP 3 Cut out the square and along the dotted lines. Use the pin to poke holes at the center and marked corners. Remove template from pouch wrapper.
STEP 4 Insert the earring post into the corners one at a time and then the center.
STEP 5 Use the rubber earring back to compress pinwheel towards the front of the earring post.
STEP 6 Poke a hole in the top of a straw with a pin and insert the pinwheel into other straw. Place the metal earring back onto the end of the post to secure the pinwheel.
TIP 2: You can apply a jewel to the center to bedazzle the pinwheel.
