Feeding America : Feeding America partners with a large number of community organizations but the most universally accessible is probably the food distribution with partner Salvation Army at 725 F St., San Diego 92101. This location does a distribution on the first Wednesday of the month. FFI go to www.feedingamericasd.org or call 211. Golden SHARE Food Program: A volunteer-run, community distribution of fresh food throughout San Diego County at low prices each month eligible to all. SHARE’s mission is to build and strengthen community through volunteer service. From $15 to $35 per month for up to 16lbs. of meats, veggies or a combination, you can order from a host site or the Golden Share office by a specific date each month and then pick it up on a designated date, about a week later. It costs $27 for the basic package and you don’t have to volunteer putting packages together unless you want. Jewish Family Service Hand Up Youth Food Pantry: Run by a committee of teenage volunteers, the HAND UP Youth Food Pantry provides food to thousands of San Diego’s hungry, includes case managers at distribution sites with an array of vital services. There are host sites throughout the County. You can order online or show up at host sites most of which are churches all over. Everyone is eligible.
