Albion College Quick Facts
Coach Morel’s Comments
“The first weeks of camp went well. We came out of it healthy, which was the first goal. We figured out who our quarterback will be, and that was the second goal. We also have a large roster, so bringing the whole team together, letting the guys get to know one another, and for the newcomers to get to know Wabash was the third goal.”
Location: Albion, MI Enrollment: 1,239 Nickname: Britons
On the quarterback competition: “There are three guys who are really, really close. Weston Murphy (SO/ Gilbert, AZ/Williams Field) is the guy we are going to go with. Austin Nightingale (JR/Gilbert, AZ/Perry) is a competitive guy and can play for us in a second. Tanner Skeel (JR/Greenwood, IN/Greenwood Central) had a good camp, as well. Derek O’Conner (FR/Indianapolis, IN/Roncalli) is going to be a great player. The preseason competition worked itself out, and it always seems to be the case at the quarterback position.”
Colors: Purple and Gold
On Albion: “Albion is an outstanding football program with a phenomenal coaching staff that has been together for a long time. They will come here Saturday ready to try and beat us. They came within a play of beating us last year. Traditionally Albion has been a no-huddle team on offense with a run-pass option. They go very fast and seem to run about 8,000 plays a game. Defensively they have some very good players returning, especially up front. We struggled to run the ball effectively against them last year. They’re a physical team with tremendous pride. They won’t go 1-9 this year.”
Head Coach: Craig Rundle (Albion College, 1974)
Albion Preview
The Britons’ overtime loss to Wabash last season proved to be foreshadowing of the 2016 campaign overall. Albion finished 1-9 for the year, mostly due to injuries, and struggled in the turnover department, ending the season minus-11 and ranked toward the bottom of Division III teams.

Spase Dorsuleski (SR/D/Crown Point, IN/Crown Point), a two-time All-NCAC and 2016 All-Great Lakes Region selection as a defender, will be one of the leaders of the Wabash squad in 2017. A starter in all 19 games for the Little Giants, Dorsuleski ranked third in the NCAC with three game-winning goals last season and finished with five total for the year. He helped Wabash to seven shutout victories out of the team’s 11 total wins. Dorsuleski will be joined by returning starter Christian Stiverson (JR/D/West Lafayette, IN/Harrison) in the back. Stiverson played in 17 games with 13 starts. Jacques Boulais (JR/F/Indianapolis, IN/North Central) was the thirdleading scorer for the Little Giants last season, notching three goals and four assists for 10 total points. David Riggs (SO/MF/Indianapolis, IN/Heritage Christian) added four goals and an assist last season, coming off the bench in all but three of his 16 games played. Alexiz Arellano (SR/MF/El Paso, TX/Bel Air) anchors the midfield for the Little Giants. He played in 18 games with 16 starts in 2016, scoring two goals and three assists. Cory Sims (SR/MF/Camby, IN/ Mooresville) is a three-year captain for the Wabash team. He started 12 of 17 games last year with two goals. The meet begins at 7:30 p.m. at the course located at Northview Church in Carmel, Indiana. The Little Giants will race against teams from the University of Cincinnati, the University of Indianapolis, and IUPUI along with the host Bulldogs. Dominic Patacsil (JR/West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) and Aaron Tincher (SR/Martinsville, IN/Martinsville) are back after earning All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors with top-21 finishes at the championship meet in 2016. Patacsil added All-Great Lakes Regional honors with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA DIII Regional race at Hope College. He earned the 2016 NCAC Men’s Newcomer of the Year Award and All-NCAC honors with a 16th-place finish at the conference championship event. Senior Luke Doughty (Huntington, IN/Huntington North) missed last season while studying abroad.
