FORD HOUSE CROQUET LEAGUE 2017 POLICIES/RULES Requirements • Players must be a member* of Ford House • Minimum membership level = $35, Individual • Fees are $75 per player *If your membership is up for renewal on or before September 1, 2017, you must renew before the 2017 season starts.

Times/Dates • Courts will be set up prior to 6pm for practice. • Weekly play begins at 6pm. As players arrive, competition may start. • Play is on Wednesday’s in June, July, and August, with a bye week in the first week of July. Dates will listed on league’s Face Book page. Dates June 7

Teams There will be 10 teams consisting of 6 players each.

Subs* Subs must be current Ford House Members. There are 3 options: 1. You may ask someone from the “Approved Sub List” to cover for you 2. Current Ford House Members may sub. They must show their current membership card at check-in before play starts. 3. Players may play twice if needed. *If you would like to be a sub, please contact Kristine Iacopelli at [email protected] Once your membership is verified, you will be put on the “Approved Sub List” This list will be sent out at the beginning of the season to all players. It is the players’ responsibility to find an approved sub. If after exhausting the 3 options your team still does not have enough players the team will be disqualified for the week.

All players will be responsible for adhering to Ford House Rules and Policies. Team Captains Each team must choose a captain who will be responsible for  Communicating with team members regarding subs  Communicating with team members regarding game cancellation due to weather or other circumstances  Consensus with other captains on calling rain-outs once play has started  Communicating with team regarding weekly scores or other necessary information

Scoring • Ford House will manage score tabulation and court assignments. Captains are responsible for recording scores in the notebook the day of play. • Scores will be posted to the league’s Face Book page by that following Friday. Weather Ford House will watch the weather patterns on the day of play and will make a call at 4pm if it appears storms or serious weather will be threatening at Ford House. Captains will be notified via email and are responsible for communicating with members of their team. Cancellations will also be posted on the league’s Face Book page. There are no make-up dates. Check-in Please check-in with the Visitor Services representative when you arrive. Subs must check in also. If the sub is not on the approved list, they must show their current Ford House membership card.

Parking Through June 21, parking will be in the Visitor’s Center lot. Members may walk or take the shuttle to the courts, but we do encourage everyone to walk if possible. The shuttle will be available after play, but only until 9:15. After that, players must walk back to the Visitor Center. Due to construction, after June 21, parking will be in the new temporary parking lot straight ahead and to your right as you enter the Main Gate. There will be no shuttle service to the courts. Concessions Will continue as in years past, with Ford House providing concessions consisting of beer, wine and small food items. Smoking Ford House requests that smoking be limited to designated area(s) to ensure safety of the environment and to avoid offending other players. The designated area on the Ford House Grounds is in front of the Visitors Center. Disputes In the event of a dispute players will consult Paul to determine the outcome.
