Band Reminders for November 27, 2017: #1 Region Junior High Concert Band Auditions: Saturday, December 2nd. (for 7

th

-9th graders who had signed up)

#2 Winter Band Concert: Monday, December 4th for a grade for everyone. 6:30 pm in the MCHS Gym. (for all band students) Be in Formal Concert Attire (see below). Students are expected to stay the whole concert. (Band Concert will run about an hour to an hour and a half). Students be there at 6:10 pm. #3 Beginner Band Practice Records due December 6th. #4 Region Jr. High Concert Band and Region Sr. High Jazz Clinic/Concert: Friday and Saturday, December 8th and 9th. (for those who make the honor bands at the auditions on December 2nd)

#5 HS Pep Band Game Night (9th-12th grades): Tuesday, December 12th. Be in pep band attire, in band room at 5:30 pm. #6 Semester Exams: Yes, band classes have semester exams (students will be able to choose from a written exam or a playing exam). Sign-offs for exam exemptions will start after the winter concert. #7 Pep Band in January: Jan 12th, Jan 23rd, Jan 25th. (Senior night is now the 25th, NOT the 26th) #8 Senior High Region Concert Band Auditions: January 13th #9 Jr. Region Jazz/Sr. Region Concert Band Clinic/Concerts: January 19th/20th. #10 All Star Band Auditions: February 6th

Formal Concert Attire: (for the winter concert) Ladies White button-down Oxford shirt, long-sleeved, tucked in. Khaki dress pants or khaki skirt Black or brown belt (if needed) Solid color: brown, navy or black dress shoes (2” heel or lower) Jewelry & makeup must follow school guidelines Women’s crossover tie, navy or navy and/or gray striped tie

9th -12th Grade Band: Navy Blazers Gentlemen White button-down Oxford shirt, long-sleeved, tucked in Khaki dress pants (no cargo pants) Black or brown belt (if needed) Solid color black/brown socks & dress shoes navy/gray tie, striped or solid Men’s striped/solid necktie, (navy/gray)

9th -12th Grade Band: Navy Blazers Your concert attire needs to be CLEAN and WRINKLE FREE! No Tennis shoes or flip-flops allowed in a concert setting!! Remember this is part of your performance grade! If you are not able to afford the required concert attire, please speak to a director IMMEDIATELY so that assistance can be given BEFORE a performance comes up. We have extra white oxford shirts available, but it is first come, first serve.
